When it comes to Valentine’s Day, personally, I am typical Midwesterner. I don’t talk about my emotions, and I am too shy for surprises or being publicly embarrassed. I don’t like that much time and energy being spent on me. However, I am all about orchestrating romantic situations for my friends, family and clients, and living vicariously through them.
Okay, I’ll admit it ,despite the fact that my list of favorite movies are all “sophisticated” Indie movies, art house films or academy award winners, I still love the cheesy romantic comedy. The plots are all the same: boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back. But there is something about the “you complete me” speech that is the last 10 minutes of every last one of these movies that makes me melt and tear up every time. One of the best parts of working at Zhen Reflections is during the Valentines Day’s season is each day is like a romantic comedy!
Over the years we have been a part of many surprises for birthdays, anniversaries and even a marriage proposal or two! Every year on February 14th we become the destination for romance in the Lake Minnetonka area. Our staff and I get to be a large part of memories that will last a life time. There is just something about getting the couples suite ready that always makes me smile. Lighting all the candles on the wall and around the soaking tub and filling it with geranium scented bubbles (aphrodisiac) and carefully placing rose petals in the tub and on the bed. The work that goes into making sure every detail is perfect is it all worth it when you see the couples faces when they walk into the suite! In my opinion there is nothing more romantic!
Valentine’s Day is only 4 days away, and I can’t wait to help more people FEEL THE LOVE!
